Hey yall today I visited the visual arts museum with my friends. It wasn’t what I was really expecting. All of the artworks were really modern. Some of the artworks had portrayed a time in life that was either golden or devastating. We walked around to see how each photograph was like. There was this one particular photograph showing the head statue of Buddha that was shattered. In my opinion I believe that this portrays symbolism as well as having a great meaning. The symbolism of this art work is that Buddha represents the identity of god however the head is not in place showing the growing society of atheists. The great meaning behind this piece of artwork is that god doesn’t necessarily have to be a belief, it’s more of an image. People see it as something they want to believe in rather than having nothing to explain the supernatural and miracles. Miracles are one of the reasons people believe in god although in my opinion it’s only luck. This photograph truly opened my mind of the way I perceive Buddha as another entity. Also this photograph has the sense of nationality behind it because Buddha is more of a god in Asian culture rather than the western American white culture. In all aspects, I am not one to judge but I believe that Buddha is a mere idea that people perceive to be true rather than for Buddha, god, to truly exist.
