Being unable to attend an Enrichment Workshop, I decided to take this test. It’s basically a diagnostic test to determine what type of learner you are and how you learn the best. Everyone’s probably taken this test several times already. However, VARK Questionnaire differs from the rest because they ask unique questions. On top of that, they let you select several answers if more than one of the answers apply to you. Some of these questions will leave you having to think about your answers. Upon finishing the test, you get your results. For me, I got 9 points for read/write, 8 points for visual, 6 points for kinesthetic, and 5 points for aural. The overall conclusion is that I have a multimodal learning preference. I wasn’t able to find much of a definition of “multimodal learning preference” and what it means, but I’m going to guess that I am able to learn in a variety of ways. Either that, or it requires me to have all visual, read/write, kinesthetic, and aural strategies in order to learn. I wasn’t expecting to learn much from this questionnaire, but this is the first time I’ve never heard of this type of learning preference because I’d usually be more of a visual and reading/writing learner.
