Whitney Museum of American Art

Last week I went to the Whitney Museum of American Art. Honestly I wanted to go to MOMA, as I haven’t been to it in a while, but it was closed. I just settled on this museum. The museum had a very cool vibe inside from the moment I walked in. I was prepared to pay for an entry, but it turned out I was able to get in for free, since I am a CUNY student. One of the first thing you notice when you first walk in is the stair case. Down the middle there is figures sliding down a rope. I went through the museum by going from the top to the bottom. The museum has a lot of cool art, but I feel lit lacks compared to the Museum of Modern Art. It has a bunch of paths that you could walk through if you take off your shoes and socks, but I didn’t really want to go through any of them. All the paintings/pictures were very cool. Each one definitely is the authors own style, didn’t look or feel familiar to any other art. There was also this really cool hanging structure. If you looked at it from different angles, you saw different stuff. There was this outside balcony that also had a very nice feel to it. The balcony had these red boxes. I’m not sure what these boxes represented or how they were art though. There was also an overview on the Highline and was attached to the Highline. After I went through all the floors I left with a pretty good feeling about the museum. I would recommend it to others, but I wouldn’t tell you to expect it to be the best museum you’ve ever been to.
