The MET has always been an all-time favorite of mine. With an upcoming Michaelangelo exhibit, I just had to check out the old artists one more time. Popular exhibits shown at the MET include The Great Wave of Kanagawa and the famous Water Lillies by Claude Monet. I am not a big fan of modern art and that’s why I prefer going to the met over the likes of the MoMa. The baroque painting style of Cristobal de Villalpando has to be a new favorite of mine. “Moses and the Brazen Serpent and the Transfiguration of Jesus” is a very popular painting of his. Also, for those who didn’t know, baroque art came 200 years later after Rennaisance and focuses more on depicting emotion. If you’re looking for a walk through time the MET is the place to go. In addition, If you’re a big fan of Van Gogh, Durer or even Rembrandt the MET has a recent exhibit that focuses on the old master’s drawings. Below are some photos of pieces I took.
