Going to Baruch Voices

I went to Baruch Voices on Thursday, November 2nd. All the monologues I heard were interesting. I don’t remember what every speech was about, but I do remember what some of them were about. One person talked about fighting against discrimination. Another person talked about the similarities between starting a new life in high school and starting a new life in college. Another person talked about Popeyes chicken. Another person gave a speech and at the end, he revealed he was lying the whole time. Another person talked about snow and included a lot of imagery in his monologue. These speeches all stood out to me, but I was really looking forward to Patrick’s rap. When Patrick performed his rap, there was no music to go along with it, but it still sounded pretty awesome. Besides Patrick’s rap, I also really liked the speech that someone named Kenny made. His monologue was the funniest of all the monologues I had heard. He talked about working at a hospital, where he messed around with an 80-year-old Jewish man who couldn’t walk. Every moment of that speech was hilarious. I laughed the whole time. Overall, I was amazed at all the different and interesting topics that people chose to talk about at Baruch Voices. It was a wonderful experience for me.
