NYMIA General Interest Meeting

I arrived at NYMIA’s general interest meeting due to my passion to play, compose, and listen to music. NYMIA is a club that stands for the New York Music Industry Association. I was intrigued with the club because I became interested in gaining insight about the music industry despite the fact that I am planning to get a career in marketing management.  My impressions of the club were pretty vague due to me being tired at the moment and due to there being  a lot introductory information being given to all of the recruits. But we were told that the meetings will get more exciting in the future. I am also grateful that the club was welcoming all the hungry members in the room with pizza. I do not regret attending the meeting because I plan on attending every meeting and becoming an active member in the club. The photos I posted with this blog post are a screenshot from NYMIA’s Instagram page and a photo of the flyer that made me attend the first meeting. The Instagram screenshot shows a photo of a few members and me sitting down at the meeting.  Unfortunately I wasn’t facing the camera directly and was looking straight ahead at the front of the room. (That is proof that I was out of it at the time.) The post can be found down in the link below. In addition to receiving pizza at the meeting and being able to gain insight into the music industry during the next meetings I will be able to participate in fun activities such as Open mic sessions and NYMIA Fest. Hopefully my form of musical expression will be deemed appropriate enough to be performed and praised by my peers. But I look forward to receiving constructive criticism and feedback on how I can improve my creative skills.
