Sports have always been an important part of my life. I started playing hockey at the age of 5 and started playing lacrosse in 3rd grade. In high school I started football, and proceeded to play for the remaining 4 years. I knew Baruch was my top school because it had my major and was in the perfect location. Unfortunately, they did not have any of the three sports that I played. I decided to go anyway, however, since I really liked the school, and was betting that they would have some club sport and I was right! When I was going to class at Baruch in the summer time, I saw signs in the hallway for the roller hockey club. This was perfect because I had just received roller skates from my dad as my high school graduation and could the same equipment that I used for ice hockey. I got in contact with the Captain, Pete, and he is a really great guy. He is a senior at Baruch and helped me get to tryouts in Long Island back on September 25th. At the first tournament last weekend in Feasterville, PA, we were short guys and only got two play two games. I scored 3 goals in the first game and 1 in the second for a total of 4. We are having troubles with our funding from USG right now and might not have the money by the leagues due date on November 1st. It’s a really complicated situation, but I hope we can still play for the rest of the year. I plan on becoming the club president next year since Pete, and a majority of guys on the team are graduating.
