Last week Thursday my friend and I went to the Major Minor Fair offered at Baruch. Although the fair was interesting, and very inviting, I was not really all that captivated because I’m sure as to what my major will be. I’ve decided to be an English major because it’s what I love, and for many years I thought it wouldn’t be possible to make a career out of my passion, my recent internship proved me otherwise. Most of my bosses at Grove Atlantic, a leading independent American publisher, were English majors and inspired me to pursue a degree in English–and hopefully at publishing company much like Grove. As for my minor, the fair did give me some ideas as to what I could possibly do, although I’m nowhere near sure as to what I want to do with that, and I’m in no particular rush to decide. I was thinking either Finance, Sociology, or Journalism, but with Journalism I was considering that as a double major. It’s a lot to think about and the fair did give me that push I needed to start getting all the details of my major and minor together.
