FRO Fall 2017 Section DTJ

This weekend I attended the Mo Math Museum. As I entered I was immediately bombarded by the weird and unusual contraptions, weird smells, and rush of little kids that surrounded me. The air was filled with words such as “Woahhhhh” and “Ooooooh.” As I ventured further into this mystical land of fun and games I began to revisit my childhood self. I was ecstatic with the fact that I was second in line for the tricycle ride. I was flabbergasted by the idea of someone being able to sit on a chair with one leg and not fall flat on their face. As I walked around the museum I contemplated on what Mo Math was aiming for when they created this place and finally came to a conclusion. They had a similar idea as Walt Disney. What they had made was a Safe Haven. A place for adults whose hopes and dreams had withered away to express their inner child before they go back to their monotonous and melancholy lives. A place for young people to create, develop, and blossom their ideas, and hopefully inspire others to do the same. A place where people could be happy and leave their troubles behind.

First Year Seminar Monologue

Since the beginning of time, society has had it’s fair share of problems. Some of which include economic despair, disease, natural disasters, and political leaders. But there is  something that has managed to plague all society, and has resided within us since the day we were born, slowly eating away what makes us who we are. This dreaded plague is known as social anxiety. It affects everyone, and can arise in a variety of ways. I’ve struggled with this plague throughout most of my life, and I am finally winning the battle. Finding a cure for this horrible disease within your own life is the only way to truly be free.

Either add alt text or mark the image as decorative. As I wandered the halls of Baruch with a look of curiosity and determination, I continued on my quest to find the perfect. I stumbled across a room filled with faint sounds of laughter. As I entered I was greeted enthusiastically and things went on from there as we talked about college life and vibed out to cultural music.I got to meet new people and was exposed to different perspectives on life. During club hours I would rush to the room and determine the best route to acquire as much food as possible in the time allotted. The first event that I attended was the Latino Heritage Month Event. I was amazed by the results of what could happen when everyone comes together as a community.I goofed around at the photo booth and was invigorated by the smell of hispanic cooking and my newfound title of musical chairs champion. We sang and danced bachata and had a wonderful time. I then went to the family feud in which I was chosen to assist LASO and help lead them to victory. Although we weren’t first place, we weren’t far behind, and we had a great time in the process. We accepted our prize and ended the night satiating our hunger with cake and slices of pizza. I am amazed by the amount of memories that I already have with LASO at such an early point in the year, and I cant wait to see what’s next.
