This picture is simply me doing my job. I work real estate but as someone who wants to get involved in the business world it is more then just that. I learn marketing skills and advertising skills as I must put up advertisements. Off these advertisements I have to take calls and emails about various inquiries if someone is interested which relates to customer service. Then I must maintain client relations as I must balance appointments and coordinate with busy schedule’s including my own. Once I meet them I have to show them a place usually ill have to show a few to find what they like. Often obstacles such as a unit already being rented will occur. I must also explain and look over the financial requirements at time of signing. This all helps with my career path as I don’t know if I would want to stick with this exact job or field forever. However I do know that I want to be un the business or finance world and that I’m working on some vital skills that will help me advance or get my foot in the door for these fields. Just like college it is a gateway/learning experience that will prepare me for the future and is an extension of my education beyond the classroom.

Trip to the Met
When I went to the met I saw a variety of exhibits they had to offer. They had an exhibit of ancient artifacts that were all in a glass case. The museum had statues and head sculptures from the times of ancient Greece. These statues were aged to the point where some of the noses had fallen off the heads. The Egyptian and African style art had more of a patterned based style and was more colorful as well as detailed. The Egyptian and African art used more brown orange and red. They also incorporated ancient Egyptian symbols within some of the work. After this I was in the oil painting sections which was my personal favorite. One section had paintings that had more of a straight forward and in detail depiction of what it was supposed to be. The other ones were more of a modern art style incorporating more shapes and vibrant colors. In the pieces from the 20th century (especially the second half) I felt that it was more interpretive and the pieces were created to make someone think and often have someone come up with their own meaning for it. It was interesting to not just look at but also learn about the pieces and artist through reading the description.
Checking out Chit Chat
I went to an event hosted by the club chit chat. When I walked in they had chine food that was just being finished eaten and drinks. They also had music playing. People were playing some type of game of charades. Everyone was in a line and the ones from that line acted it out and the audience gave suggestions for them to act out. After this the leaders gave a presentation about chit chat and what the club was about as well as information about future events in the months to come. The leaders of the club introduced themselves during this presentation. It seemed like a very relaxed fun oriented atmosphere. One thing that made this club distinctive for most is that it wasn’t an academic or sports based club. This club has no outstanding requirements such as try outs, class seniority and GPA. This club prides itself in being a fun relaxed environment which is great to have because the ability to just have fun and socialize in a relaxed environment can really decrease the stress of some students. Chit Chat is a club that is meant for getting to know people. This is particularly good in a commuter school like Baruch because it gives people the opportunity to get to know each other.
