Freshman Seminar Fall 17 DWC

blog #3 career

I went to a Career Event in October, it was mostly for the business department. I saw finance, marketing and accounting stands explaining the opportunities and events that contribute to these majors. When I first came to college I didn’t know what major I was doing. I thought I was going to do something business based. However now I’m a Biology major, I don’t know if I will change my major again or stay as a biology major. But the event opened up to me more information and knowledge on the many other majors I was interested in. I wondered if I should do a double major or a minor in another interest. I realized if I don’t take the time and effort to make myself go out and find things I was either interested or curious about, I wouldn’t know what to do as a career. I have to ask questions and find information, although I found it very confusing at first with the many offices in Baruch. I find myself feel productive rather than doing what is necessary of me. It is a type of work ethic I should learn to do to achieve.
