Freshman Seminar Fall 17 DWC

On Friday, I decided to stop by the STARR center to see if there were any workshops I could attend, such as the resume building one. I went with my friend Konrad to the office on the second floor near the STARR center. I approached the front desk and a helpful lady asked if I needed help. I told her I wanted some more information on any events or workshops I can attend that day, but she told me that there were none. She helped me with any questions that I had. She then proceeded to hand me a piece of paper with all the workshop dates of the semester. I went over to a table that had countless pamphlets and informational papers that you can take for free. It seemed highly unlikely that you would leave this center without getting any career-related concern or question answered.

There is an Internship Seminar this coming Wednesday that I am genuinely interested in, so I will RSVP for it online at the STARR search. I’ve also used this search to look at upcoming events as well. This website also has a job and internship search for and profiles of different employers as well. I’ve found this extremely helpful as it helps me to know what employers are looking for in students and it will prepare me ahead of time. Although I dont see myself using this resource any time soon, I definitely will be utilizing this heavily within the next few years when I have developed more skills. All in all, I highly recommend any ambitious student to go to the STARR center and ask a lot of questions and I also recommend using the STARR search engine as well!
