Last week I peaked into the Tech startup function at Baruch hosted by the Hillel. The function was very Jewish interrelated and included Kosher food and beverages that provided cultural awareness for me because I’ve never had Jewish food before. Needless to say from that experience i’ll be trying out new Jewish food. It was an interesting and useful experience seeing as I had been questioned whether or not to study and major in a technology related field. The function had a huge panel consisting of multiple entrepreneurs and startup tech companies, most of which were from israel or had some relation to Jewish heritage. I think it was interesting to see how technology and business go so hand in hand with one another and they made it very prevalent that they need more people in tech fields because it’s almost become a necessity for the society that we live in currently and would be continually growing field in the future. It made me reevaluate what I want to study and actually start taking an interest in the tech field. Honestly I think this function served an enlightening experience as I learned a lot and kind of safe guarded my decision to invest my time and money in choosing to major in cybersecurity.
