First-Year Seminar FMA

Audition at Baruch!

Hey All,

I think I’ve mentioned I’m an active member in Baruch’s theatre scene. I have some updates, for anyone interested in getting involved! We have 2 major shows going on this semester:

The first is the Fine and Performing Arts Department’s show for this semester–Shakespeare’s  A Midsummer Night’s Dream! Here is a link to the Facebook event page for auditions. It’s going to be set in the 1980’s, with a very modern take on the story. Auditions are Monday 9/18, Tuesday 9/19 & Wednesday 9/20 (call backs) 2017 from 6 to 9pm in The Bernie West Theatre – 17 Lex, 9th Floor. You can stop by the FPA department on the 7th floor of the NVC for audition materials to become familiar with!

The second show is a student-run musical, Next to Normal. I will be designing the lights for this one! Auditions for this one are coming up NEXT WEEK! Here is a link to their audition event page. Auditions are September 13th from 6 – 9 PM, and September 14th from 12:30 – 2 PM and 6 -9 PM, in VC 7-170. If you’re interested in helping in any fashion (lights, sound, set, costumes, etc.) feel free to reach out to me and I’ll connect you directly!

Hope to see some of you at these auditions!

Hello FMA!

This is our Blogs@Baruch site, where you all will be posting your assigned Enrichment Workshop responses. As a reminder, you will need to complete one enrichment workshop from each an Academic, Career, and Student Life perspective.

Please be sure you categorize and/or tag each of your posts (on the righthand side of the screen while composing your response) with which Enrichment Workshop category you are covering. This will both help me while grading your posts, and also help your classmates to see what kinds of activities they may be interested in!

I encourage you all to use this platform to share your experiences throughout the semester, and to get to know each other as well as the Baruch College community.

As always, please feel free to ask me any questions, and come to me with any concerns you may have.

Have fun with these workshops, and get blogging!
