ResuMaybeI’llCheckOutStarR

Until yesterday, I had been putting of my visit to see Star R. That’s right, Carlos. I’m Calling it Star R. I don’t care why they spelled it like that, it’s still really stupid. But anyways, I went to The Star R Career Development Center. I wasn’t too confident in my resume going in there. I didn’t really have much on it aside from my yearly volunteer work during It’s My Park Day.

Naturally, I was a little concerned. But once I sat down, they discussed other things I could put down. I ended up adding 5 new things to my resume. One of those things was helping out around my mother’s jewelry business. Another was the 2nd place prize on an old math team. They also helped me word things properly, to make it really pop. Needless to say, I’m now a lot more confident in my resume.

They Built A Quilt

War and Pieces was an art gallery. I went to see it at the American folk museum. I’m not usually a fan of museums. However, the subject matter was particularly interesting. Every single one of the pieces was a quilt. For those who are unfamiliar, a quilt is like a strange mix of blanket and rug. And seeing a museum filled with them was interesting to say the least.

I had known the general theme of the museum when I first went there. After all, it’s called the American Folk Museum. But I had no idea that it would be a quilt exhibit. Before that point, I had seen 3 quilts in my life, one of which was my own from when I was little. I got to see at least 8 quilts on that day. I took a really stupid looking picture with the two who joined me. In the souvenir shop, I got 3 books, one on being a husband, one on a wife, and one on a mother.

I joined the board game club because I was board.

One week ago, I went to the first meeting for the Grid. I had found the club at orientation, because a friend told me about it. I encouraged two friends of mine to come by as well. From my experiences so far, I can confidently say that I’ll be hanging around the club a lot. For one thing, the activities are engaging. Also, people are fun to hang with in all kinds of different ways. I’ve already gotten to know most of the people there.

When I went to the first meeting, we were playing werewolf. I’m familiar with the game, and enjoy it, so naturally I was excited. For the first game I got defender. I actually managed to save someone’s life before they accused me of being a werewolf and the town lynched me. Then I got to watch everyone blindly trust a werewolf almost through the whole game, stopping just barely before he won. For my second game, I got a bundle of fun. I got cupid, and chose my two friends to be lovers. They instantly knew it was me, and we played through that game with them fearing someone would get them both.
