Freshman Seminar Fall 17 FWB

Academic Workshop

For my academic workshop, I had to attend the museum of natural history on the upper west side here in manhattan. This was a part of my anthropology class assignment and came to be an exhilirating experiencee. Once i rrived there, i had to find the Hall of Human origins to learn about the evolution of the human species. There were so many new things i never realized about human evolution before this trip to the museum. I learned our natural traits and how we adapted to our planet over time.

Career Workshop

I attended the resume workshop, which helped me learn to create a professional and outstanding resume.  I was completely clueless before attending the workshop, but now i can say i have impressed myself with organizing all my work experience. I was a bit frustrated with creating it before hand, fearing i did not have enough experience and would have nothing to put down. After this vivid learning experience, I acknowledged skills i was not aware i had. The people at the workshop were very welcoming and helped me understand the essence of a good resume.

The Golden Key International Honour Society

I was determined to participate in The Golden Key International Honour Society as my enrichment workshop. This was the only club that seemed to catch my interest as i was also a part or Arista & Archon Honor Society during my years in high school. For the most part growing up, I always had the desire to academically be impressive and distinguishable from those around me. Prestigious groups that added a significance to your impression on teachers is something I yearned to take part of. The Golden Key Club was the most tempting opportunity for that just had to take advantage of. At Golden Key, its much more than just being a good student, its about being scholars that are looked up to. They strongly believe in the knowledge they possess to help the arising conflicts and struggles of life around them everyday; they strive to be leaders. Once you become a part of this, it helps you unlock the full potential within your intelligence, expands your insight, and also adds a very professional recognition to your name. It is also the world’s largest collegiate honor society, and membership is by invitation only exclusively to the top fifteen percent of college and university sophomores, juniors, and seniors. This society was established in nineteen-ninety seven. Once committing to it, you are expected of a high standard of scholastic achievement, and an ethos of integrity, innovation, respect, collaboration, and diversity. All these modest qualities would set examples for the younger students following our footsteps. It is only right that we have pass our knowledge down to them. Academics, leadership, and service are the significant pillars of this honorable society. I believe that being a part of it would have an everlasting effect on the student to see the best in themselves and always finding a way to improve themselves.
