This was my first visit to the MOMA and was amazing. I anticipated the experience to be fun because I was going with friends, but the museum itself was fascinating. There was a vast amount of diversity, so many different exhibits and styles of Art. There was so much that I was unable to visit every exhibit. I went to the MOMA expecting to be wowed by stary night and Picassos and of course I was, but I was surprisingly intrigued by this picture…
I love the contrast between dark and bright colors, it just captured my attention. It seemed to me that there is a profiled portrait of a man on the canvas, it just saw happened that I was the only one who saw it that way. This is another reason why I loved this piece, it can be perceived in so many different ways every time I look I find another possibly recognizable object. Sadly it slipped my mind to take note of the title and artist, but it is an amazing piece. Although it was quite enjoyable to look at this piece the most thought-provoking piece was this sculpture…..
Pardon the caption but that was the first thought that popped into my head when I saw this. It was simply the most interesting and confusing piece of art that I’ve ever seen, and there will always be something to say about it. This visit will help me not only in my first semester at Baruch but throughout my entire future because admiring and acquiring knowledge on art is an essential part of being a properly cultured individual. It always helps to have something thought-provoking to talk about in any situation one may find themselves in. Whether it’s hanging out with friends or interviewing for an internship, and If that topic just so happens to be art it will immediately elevate your stature in the eyes of the person you’re conversating with.
