Freshman Seminar Fall 17 LC04

Morris’s visit to the Career Fair

I attended the Career fair on September 15th which was held in the main gymnasium of Baruch College. This was an extremely formal event that featured multiple important businessmen women that represented their respective companies. I was truly shocked at the turnout of the event. There were much more people that were standing on a giant line just to get in than I ever imagined. This is an amazing sign for the future of the American economy. If so many people were interested in becoming more economically sound then that can only lead to bigger and brighter future. I’m sure that there were many students that weren’t able to attend this event because of classes and that would’ve further increases the population at the event.

Something important that I learned from this event was that businesses truly recognize and appreciate the people that show up at these types gatherings. It shows them that you are committed and passionate about succeeding in your aspirations. When a person is able to do this he or she can really access their full potential and that can only help them become better individuals that can have an immense impact on the future of American society.

I also am appreciative of the kind men and women that took time out of their extremely stressful and busy days to join me and my fellow students at Baruch. This is going to help inspire and enlighten us about their careers and how we should become more involved. I believe that this event really will jump start my willingness to become a more active person in terms of career opportunities. I think that I made some connections that can prove to be extremely valuable when I’m looking for a long-term stable job. I thank Baruch College for this opportunity and encourage other students to attend this type of event in the future.
