Focus 2 – dian yuan jiang

During the weekend I had to complete a career related blog spot but i didn’t go to any career events because of bad organization of time and laziness. So, instead i chose  to complete the focus 2 assessment that is related to the career blog.  When i enter this website i see 5 sections that i needed to complete and each sections have its own interesting part. It starts with your own interest and for most of them i picked 3 stars out of 5 stars because i don’t really know what i like to do and almost none of them interests me but i have to answer all these questions. While i was doing the survey i found this question that is very interesting which something like are you interested in doing gardening work, and i put a 4 star into that question because i m very interested in flower and such which interests me. Besides this i didn’t find much interesting and entertaining questions in the focus 2 assessment and the total time that took me to complete all 5 of these assessments was only about 20 minutes and it is basically a survey to categorized you into your job interest. Overall the survey was OK and i like it because it helped me complete my career blog that i have no idea how to complete it.

Student life blog

On Friday, the 6th i went to the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) game night at 6 pm. While i was waiting until 6 i was hanging around the school and discovering new buildings in the school, because there were many places that i didn’t visit because usually after my classes ended i go straight back home. Only for this reason, the game night i stayed in the school and found out many new and cool buildings in our school, such as the building where we can use computers which is located in 6th floor of the library and i finished some of my homework while waiting for the time to pass. And finally at last, when i went to the game night, i first sign in and sat there for a while until a guy approach to me and started talking to me because i was alone and had no one with me. We talked many different things like our school and majors that he is in, and i learned that he has the same major as me which is accounting, and the people in the club were very friendly they were nice and offered me some drinks. Even though i didn’t went through the whole game night because of some reason but i still enjoyed the time while i was in there. I had a really good experience in that game night because that was the first club events that i went to because i was so lazy to attend the other clubs events that were on Thursday, and this is really good experience for me to have because it introduces a new life for me since i have never went to any other club events and i was afraid that these club events will be scary and such. But overall it was a great experience and I’m looking forward to other club events that will be happening in Baruch.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

During the weekend I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art with my friend John, we chose this museum because of its location, it is near central park. Originally we decide to visit the central park after we are done with our tour in the museum, but we decided to go home because it was getting late after we were done with our tour. The museum is separate to different zones or areas and one of my favorite part of the museum is the Asian Art because I learned a lot about Asian history not only china but different parts such as Japan, India, and etc. And i liked the arms and armor because i see these all cool armors in different time periods, and one of my favorite armor was the one during the Edo period, but i don’t have a picture because of some reason, but overall that armor is the best out of all these different armor because of its style and how it looks from the outside and i can imagine the person using this armor during war time because during the Edo period it was a time when people fight for land and war happens often during this time period.

In one of the exhibits i found this scary looking Indian god sitting there, it looks real and it made me think like the statue was looking at me because of the light, it was dark and the light level was pretty low making it feel like it is piercing through eye and looking at you with his/her sight. And the name of this statue was Seated Four-Armed Vishnu, it was created in the Pandya dynasty during the second half of the 8th century to the early 9th century. This tour that I had was a great experience that I have enjoyed with my new friend John, and it was an interesting journey because the last time i have been to this museum was with my fellow classmates during my middle school year and now when i visit it again it has a different feeling compared to the last time i visited.
