Freshman Seminar Fall 17 LC09

On October 4th, 2017, I went to the SACC at Baruch to get extra help for my upcoming pre-calc final, and to fulfill my academic blog post. At first I didn’t know how to sign up for a tutor slot, but my friend Dan was able to help me. I scheduled it for the 10 am slot online. The next day, I walked in to school, but I had no idea where to go so I asked the security guard and he directed me to my destination. When I got to the center, I had to sign in and give them my ID to make sure it was me. My tutor’s name was Selena and we were working on a practice midterm exam that was given to me from my professor who isn’t the greatest at explaining mathematical concepts. She was very helpful throughout the tutor experience and she explained the problems very thoroughly and effectively. I ended up staying for the full slot, and then my friend Jeremy came and I thought it would be good to go over everything again to make sure I could apply the new information that I was just taught. I had to go back to the front desk and let them know that I was going to be staying for another hour long session, and they were ok with it so I stayed for the next full slot and went through everythingagain. Prior to the tutor, I didn’t really know how to do much of the problems on the practice exam. Overall, I had a good time working with my tutor, and I will for sure go to the SACC again in the future for any exams that I have. I ended up doing pretty well on the midterm so I guess it actually helped.
