Standing outside the Newman Vertical Campus building, trying to decide with a couple of friends which club or society to join, we made a group decision to go to a business fraternity named Beta Alpha Psi. Initially I was skeptical about joining a fraternity, because I always thought that all fraternities are social organizations and there was not much I could learn from them. With in a couple minutes into the general introductory meeting I realized how wrong I was.
The rush chairs started off by showing us a video which introduced all the members of Beta Alpha Psi and the transitioned into telling us about their three basic principle namely; professionalism, community service and brotherhood. They further told us about their experiences and how Beta Alpha Psi not only helped them do good professionally, but how each of them had build a bond with one another and created a family of their own.
Listening about the fraternity and individual experiences of people in it, made me realize, their was more to fraternities than I had initially thought and more importantly, the importance of being a part of a community that not only supports you but also helps you in achieving your dreams and aspirations, with which you come into college. Even though I am not sure in which club I would best fit, I can say with certainty that Beta Alpha Psi can help me achieve my dreams and cheer me on as I go out into the world to achieve them.
