I didnt know what to expect when I went to the career workshop. The most surprising thing I learned about was cover letters. It made sense though, employers want a letter from their employee so that they can get to know them better and see if they’re a good fit for the job. They showed how to successfully carry out an interview and what to do and what not to do. Talking about other things aside from academics can get you ahead of the competition I learned. The workshop taught me other things as well that will help me in the future when it comes to getting a job. I will use the advice about the cover letter and what to do and what not to do during interviews in the future as I wish to be successful in the business world.

The party of the people, at least that’s what they say. You have their support, transgender or gay. If you disagree with their discourse you’re racist, fascist, or dumb, see you shouldn’t be surprised if your very own call you an uncle tom. But what’s wrong with not seeing eye to eye, word for word, verbatim. Liberals used to be about progression and equality, now their ideologies include privilege and a victim mentality. The truth is society isn’t against you, work hard and you’ll achieve whatever it is that you want to. And if you’re a liberal sorry if this offends you, but it’s entirely your fault that our president happens to be a cheeto. And just because this is about liberals doesn’t mean I don’t see what conservatives are doing too, see your stubbornness is part of the reason we can’t get alone, me and you. It’s time we stop seeing majority vs minority, because there is only one race : the human race. So why spend our life hating each other, when my brothers and sisters, we were made to love.

During Anthropology class a man named Joey came in from the writing center. His purpose was to help us learn to write an essay that ties all of our ideas together with the use of topic sentences. This was the perfect time, as we all had a midterm essay due in about a week. The class could have probably went a lot smoother but everyone was tired since it was the last class of the day. However, he did work with what he had and used his time efficiently to show us how important topic sentences are, as they create synergy and flow in your essay. His lesson completely changed my perspective on the midterm I had in front of me. Instead of answering the questions sort of separately, I saw that I was able to connect them inside one smooth essay. I feel as if my essay is a lot better now thanks to Joey ; hopefully my professor agrees.

My Filipino friend suggested we attend Fusion’s interest meeting. I thought why not, they have food. When we walked in I could immediately tell that the people were very friendly. The eboard members had lots of charisma and such great personalities. Continue reading →
