Career Workshop

There are a lot of career workshops provided by Starr Career Development Center. The workshop that I attended was called “The Spotlight Series: Careers in Start-Ups”. This workshop was taught by professional entrepreneurs from the organization School16. When I came to sit down, I didn’t realize that the professional entrepreneurs who were twins until they told us. Gradually, I found out that they were similar in appearance. They told us a lot of their experience. A “Startup” company is a small fledgling company, which it is a new participant in a business. They stated that there were four stages in Startup. The first one was primary startup stage, which was the idea of the company. The second one was the validation of the stage, which was to raise money to grow, but there was no product of the market. The third stage was the seed of stage, which had something to work and there were more opportunity and higher potential to grow. The last one was the growth of stage, which there were well-paid jobs.

In addition, there were two value pillars of a startup that was product side and business side. In the product side, we need to help build the company like as a developer and product manager. In the business side, we need to help sell the products like as a growth hacker and representative. Later on, they told about the jobs. We need to know the job description and don’t wait for the permission. It is necessary to create link profile while we are finding a job. While we are in an interview, ask questions as many as you can and prepare for the interview. While we put our work experience about the company, which we are applying for on the resume, we can slightly change the information about our position, which we are applying for on the resume. However, don’t lie on the resume.  To sum up, this workshop was a great experience.
