I recently visited the resume workshop in hops of improving my own. They were all very friendly and helpful marking down what to improve on my resume and how to correctly phrase my wording. I wasn’t particularly looking to fix it in a hurry so I was able to get as much information and think it over when improving my resume for the future applications I will be putting in. I am glad to have such a resource at my disposal here at Baruch as it is helpful in a real world scenario and I can take the information with me to use in the future.

Resume Workshop
I had a great experience at the Resume workshop. I came in with a printed out Resume for them to help me revise. I walked in was kindly seated in their waiting area supplied with many different advisement opportunities displayed. After a couple of minutes they had me sign in with my Emple Id and sit back down. After a few short minutes a woman came introduced herself and proceeded to bring me to a private area we could work in quite. Together we went through my Resume piece by piece as she gave me pointers and constructive criticism so that I can improve it so that it is fantastic and ready for prospective employers. I left the office satisfied with the help I was provided and felt welcome to return when needed. It was a great experience. Looking forward to reading everyone else’s.

Resume Workshop
I went to a Resume Workshop held by the dorm residence. At the workshop, they presented us with examples of the “perfect” resume which lowered my self esteem in actually getting a job. They explained in detail how you can narrow the description of each position and still show how qualified a person can be for a job. I had no idea what I can learn from being a party host at a bowling alley. In each of the things you put, you have to explain what the position you took was and how it had a positive impact on you as a person. I guess for the bowling alley I learned to have more patience for things since I have to deal with little kids and parents that want to have everything perfect. You have to have enough detail to show why you are more qualified for a job without writing a whole paragraph, which you can later mention in the interview to the person who is deciding if you’re the right fit for the job.
The workshop answered the many questions that I had about writing a resume since I never truly learned on how to properly right one. They gave me an outline that helped me understand the format of one and how to excel in writing one. They also gathered many of the resumes that people brought in to edit them and show how they can improve it in order to make it more professional. I found this to be really helpful because I got a greater explanation on why things have to be the way they are instead of just looking it up on the internet and basing it off on that.
Majors and Minors Fair
Last Thursday, I attended Baruch’s Majors and Minors fair. There were different tables for every major and minor from business majors to science and art majors. It was really interesting because I got to see and ask questions about the majors and minors I’m interested in. When I came to Baruch I thought I was set on Economics, but during the past few months I have notice other majors that could also suit me. Furthermore, it encourage me to question myself what I really want to do in the future. Do I want to work in the business world? Or do I want to work for in the government? Which I think will be decisive at the time of choosing a major.

I should be alright. I feel alright, you know? Yeah, let’s do this, I’m ready for this shit man. I’ll be fine.
Proceeds to walk to class.
Why do I feel like this? It’s Halloween, a Friday morning at 8:30 and here I am passing up my math exam.
Wait on hold on a minute?
When did I finish my exam, what class is this? I look at the time, then at the board, then at the teacher. I’m so confused.
I ask the dude next to me. Yo, Chris what the hell are we doing?
He looks at me funny, and tells me if I’m alright?
I notice the teacher looking at me, and I start wondering if I’m in the right class.
I excuse myself to go to the bathroom, I look directly at the mirror.
And I tell myself “Redwan, you are so high right now’.
