1. An outer obstacle that stands between me and my academic success in college is having a lot of work to do at the same time.
2. Someone besides me who could help me overcome this outer obstacle is my cousin.
3. How this person could help me is by helping me with my work.
4. An inner obstacle that stands between me and my academic success in college is being lazy and also procrastination.
5. Someone besides me who could help me overcome this inner obstacle are my parents.
6. They can help me by making me do my work so that I actually complete it when I have to without being distracted or making excuses as to why I waited last minute to start.
7. The most challenging course I’m taking this semester is history.
8. This course is challenging for me because there is a lot of reading assigned and to keep up with.
9. Someone besides me who can help me overcome this obstacle is a classmate.
10. This person can help me overcome this obstacle by comparing my notes to their to see if I caught all the important notes.
Two decisions I can make to overcome these obstacles is to keep up with the readings and to stop procrastinating. If I keep up with the history readings I would understand more what the professor is talking about in class and it will deepen and help me remember the notes more. Then I will be able to pass the final exam because I would retain more information and be more prepared for the final than I was for the midterm. To stop procrastinating, I will set a timer for half an hour, and do work for that half an hour and then take a 5-10 min break, and continue for another half an hour. I think this will help me focus more and forget about using my phone and other things around me. Hopefully I won’t be as distracted using this strategy.
