For my last blog post I attended Baruch voices on the first floor of the vertical campus building. The Baruch voices was a really fun event to attend. There were various heartfelt and emotional monologues that truly touched my heart. I really enjoyed Vanessa’s and Elias’s excellent presentations. The lighting in the room made it so serene and relaxing. Also the music that was playing prior to the monologues were fantastic choices to get into the mood. I wish more people presented because it was so enjoyable to listen to the monologues. The emotions in the room were hard to absorb because they were so powerful. It was really inspiring to see some of the personal monologues. It must have taken a tremendous amount of courage to present them to an entire audience. Overall it was a great way to get to know people and an enjoyable event. I look forward to the next one.

Ah the Sydney Mishkin Gallery. The gallery is around 10 minute walking distance from the Baruch college campus. I had high hopes for the Sydney Mishkin Gallary, but was disappointed when I entered and saw only a couple of cubicles. The room itself is very small as well. The paintings in the exhibit were beautiful. My favorite painting from the exhibit was a collection of skeletons. The painting was done by Patricia Olynyk. The rest of the painting were more lively and colorful. Overall, I had a fun time at the gallery and was happy that it is very convenient to get there. I think the gallery could be better if they added more painting and maybe added some essential oil aromatherapy to give the room a unique vibe. Also having someone available to explain the paintings meaning and the style of the work would be a nice addition as well.
Blog Post #1 Student Life
I came into the gym with high hopes for the Baruch women’s basketball team on Thursday. I had never seen them play before. In fact, I have never seen a basketball game live in my entire life and have only seen one complete game on television. Therefore, I was especially curious to see how the game would progress. To my disappointment, our team was not doing well and ended up losing. The spectators on our side of the gym were not very enthusiastic or supportive. There was a lack of energy in the air. I hope that a future game will be more exciting and will bring a victory for the Bearcat team. Furthermore, I will not allow this fluke to dampen my passionate school spirit. I look forward to participating in a dazzling array of future school activities, including sporting events, extra curricular clubs, and a health and wellness event. GO BARUCH!!!
