So on Monday, March 14th, I went to The Sidney Mishkin Gallery. For starters it was way smaller than I expected. Although, it was pretty tiny it was kind of cool nonetheless. Every piece of artwork was abstract and complex in its own unique way. My favorite piece in the gallery was the one with skeletons because it made me laugh for several reasons, that don’t need to be discussed in this blog post. As much as the artwork was cool, it was also pretty odd. Maybe it’s just because I’m not really an art fanatic but I never really understood what was the actual meaning behind any of the paintings. They all just seemed like images with hidden stories that only the artist knew about, but the observer had to try to decipher. Maybe if I was to visit a different day with a new perspective things would seem a bit clearer. Overall, the gallery is a small hidden gem for those inclined to the more abstract pieces of artwork out there.
