Carnival

The story I am telling here is a story of belief. Because belief or rather disbelief is what I felt and what made the experience of the carnival much more intense and actually important to a searching soul I call myself. (No of course I dont have a thing for overly dramatic entrances, stop thinkng that)

My general expectations of school spirit were pretty low or better nonexistent.(Surely, not because Germans are forever marked  to not be proud of being a union in any way). I was very skeptical and didnt believe a single person would enjoy themselves in promoted school events. But I was wrong.

i certainly cant speak for my block-mates since   faces can always just be good masks but I was honestly and very positively surprised by the effort that was put into the whole thing and how some people got excited about parts that I might have categorized as Kidz-enjoyment. A down-side to that I must admit was that even though those funattractions were meant to be for Kids, mature Baruch-college students were restricted from entering any of them when not having passed the official adulthood age of 18, no matter how badly they wanted to jsut quicklyn try them out.

Other than that- and that was really my only complaint, it was a well organized event. They had cool things like getting yourself drawn for free as well as many delicious things for free. i mean just like that, I could have  walked up to that stand and get a first second and third smoothy FOR FREE!!!! ( Im sorry if Im getting waay too excited but in an expensieve city like New York you really have to budget well and these things help enormously).

Also the social factor like meeting other people you just briefly know from your classes or hanging out with your already somewhat closer friends made it a lot of fun!

I truly believe it had a good impact on me and hope I will get the chance again to attend it next year as well.

You know you lost me!
