The Thunder

This video is a trailer for my film. It is R rated.

When Peter walked home from McDonald's, three people stopped him. They're all wearing black helmets and holding up weapons. They're urging Peter to take out his wallet. He starts shaking and telling him he doesn't have any money. Sadly, Peter left all his money at home and only had credit cards. One of the men in a black helmet points his pistol at Peter's head and shouts again where the money is. Peter sobs and tells him again that he has no money at all. As soon as his sentence is over, the shouting men are firing three bullets. One in Peter's head and two in his foot. Blood gushes out, and Peter falls.
Peter opens his eyes. Bandages are covering his head and legs. He's about to vomit. The doctor comes and asks about his name and other things. Peter answered all the questions and recollected the robbers shot him. His heart starts pounding, and his shortness of breath starts. He tells this story to the doctor, and the doctor tells him it's PTSD. The doctor explains this disorder is a common mental illness when traumatic incidents occur. The doctor also adds he wants some to encourage other than himself and gives him a pill.
Peter is talking to Dave. Dave is sharing the bed with Peter in the hospital. He is receiving treatment for a traffic crash and is sweet, and they're chatting all night. They're starting talking about their dreams and what they wanted in their lives. Dave said he wanted to own a drug store. Peter could not respond, however. Peter had no desires or dreams. Dave informs Peter that we need aspirations and dreams in life to be productive. Once they were finished talking, Peter decided he wanted a new start. Apart from living in a poor neighborhood, he wants to change his life and be successful. A few years later, Peter works as a lawyer. He sees one of the hospital signs as he goes to work and smiles.
Peter's signs of hallucinations and delusions suggest he is suffering from PTSD. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a psychological illness that can occur in people who have suffered or witnessed a stressful event. Like a natural disaster, major accident, terrorist attacks, war, rape, or other violent, personal attacks. Individuals with PTSD have highly disquieting thoughts and feelings about their experiences that continue well after the traumatic incidents have ended. They might also suffer from flashbacks or nightmares. Roughly 28 percent of the witnesses to these shootings get PTSD after a shooting incident. When the psychiatrist is taking care of Peter, the doctor gives him a pill. The psychiatrist recommends one dose of risperidone a day. For PTSD patients are using, drugs include antidepressants (e.g., sertraline, paroxetine), atypical antidepressants (e.g., mirtazapine, venlafaxine), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (e.g., isocarboxazid, phenelzine), mood stabilizers (e.g., carbamazepine, lithium), antipsychotics (e.g., risperidone and prazosin). However, in the case of Peter, he only suffers from hallucinations and nightmares. Therefore, he does not need other antidepressants.
In the first scene, the robbers were shooting Peter. I focused on what quite weapons the robbers were using. The weapon is Beretta 92 FS. Beretta 92 FS is an ordinary weapon. It's 9 mm, and it's one of the deadliest and most dangerous handguns. The style is elegant and made of metal. It's bulkier with more ammunition, but this weapon is effective at aiming. It is a somewhat tool that the robbers will use to show off. Because of nature and the deadlines, it suits the person who likes their weapons and wants to kill their victims like the robbers. We know that since the robbers were aiming at Peter's head, they were trying to kill him.
Peter is a lovely person who wants to live his life. There are some special features for him since he is the main character. Some of the characteristics of these main characters include, all this character does suit the story, has a motive, friends are all positive, everything negative that happens is the product of someone else, and much more. In this scenario, even though the robbers were targeting Peter's head, but the bullet missed his head and did not kill him. Correspondingly, meeting David after a life-threatening moment to change his life is also showing his supportive friends. He also wants to change his life in such a way that he wants to fulfill his goal.
The key point of the movie begins when the robber shoots Peter. Peter is an individual who is struggling to survive. Don't have any dreams, and they've only worked to eat every day. There are two parts to shooting. A bullet leaving the gun and a thundering sound. It's the loud sound that helps Peter noticed his environment and let him reflect. Eventually, leaving his depressing environment.
Usually, when we think about a hospital, our first reaction is fear. As children, we've always been terrified to meet the doctors, and we still have that terror inside of us. However, even though the hospital looks terrifying, it restores people. Here, Peter meets David, and they're talking about their situation. David tells Peter that, to succeed in life, he needs to have an ambition. After his advice, Peter changed to a new person. He started working towards his new goals and achieved them one by one. As here, Peter is recovering physically and psychologically from David and the doctors.
The key target audience for this movie is for people who went through PTSD or trauma. Guns kill 36,000 Americans a year, an average of 100 a day. And every year, 100,000 Americans are shot and wounded. As the numbers rise, we see more victims of this gun violence. They're suffering from PTSD. To inspire people to live and get the right treatment, the film focuses on Peter's rehabilitation from the gun accident. Afterward, Peter lives with no signs of PTSD.
I'm going making this movie R rated. R-rated films have the characteristics of violence, sexual content, swearing, and alcohol/drug use. I want the film to be as accurate as possible. I want Peter to swear, scream, and even show some blood when he was shot and want to make his gestures idealistic. Often, there's going to be gun abuse, and so it's unideal for kids to see. Since there will be several scenes that children won't understand, I want a more mature adult to understand and follow up on the specifics of the film.
I'm sure any race or orientation can watch this movie. There isn't a particular category that I'm aiming for. I believe these victims can be anybody, and Peter can be someone's life.

Hello Simon. I believe that this is a great video. I really liked how your title tied in with the images seen within the video itself. The dialogue also flows well with the trailer and images.

      Hi Masbah
The title is the boom because after that sound Peter realizes that he’s in a bad place and tries to change. The video was easy to edit from Animoto.

  1. Excellent job depicting how PTSD torments and derails people even after a long time after the traumatic experience. The R-rated caption was also vital in letting the readers know that your film contents may contain some disturbing information. Good work.

      Hello Jacob
Thank you for your comment. You ‘re right, as shooting accidents increasing, more people experience PTSD. So, it’s necessary for us to know and be prepared for what’s going to happen. I selected R-rated because I wanted to be honest and to have a more mature audience.

  2. Hello Simon
Your film is short, but I think its very good. I really like how you chose to have such a dark colored theme, it’s really fitting with your story. I dont know why, but I found your second picture to be really funny. Such an expressive picture directly after a dark and foreboding one.

      Hello Kenny!
I was aware that the trailers are normally 30 seconds long, so I did mine for 30 seconds. I needed the whole picture to be a little gloomy. That’s why I want to R-rated. Anyway, thank you for enjoying the video. Everything wasn’t too complicated and enjoyable to do.

There was so much to unpack in your plot summary, it felt like three different narratives were taking place but in a good way. I think the common theme of the story was starting a new beginning after a bad experience and I really like that message. Unfortunately the story told in this film happens and it is important to stay positive when you may feel at your all time low.

      Hello Luis
As you said, I was planning to write it like a novel. Sure, Peter ‘s key goal is to resolve his troubled life since meeting Dave. At first, I just tried to write about Peter’s recovery, but this was too easy, not too much of a plot. And then, I brought Dave in and let him transform the life of Peter.

  3. I like the theme of your video, as the colors and the pictures set an ominous mood. One little thing I also enjoyed was that you added the “reviews” at the end of the trailer.

      Hey Xavier
I also enjoyed the “reviews.” This was sort of funny. Nonetheless, my film was a little dark on purpose. I wanted an R-rating movie to have a mature audience. I want the crowd to grasp what Peter ‘s going through. I want to turn the tone like “Joker.”

Hey Simon! Short & sweet. I liked how you had a very consistent, gloomy mood. I’m not sure exactly why, but I also really liked your gif in the scene where he meets Dave. Self-nominating yourself for those titles was a cool touch of creativity and humor. Good job!

      Hey Martin
I kept the theme that little dark. I want the tone to be close to “Joker.” Because the topic of PTSD is a serious subject, I felt I should just keep it R-rated. R-rated would allow me to include Peter, who swears and reveals blood when Peter is shot. I want the specifics to be really precise.

  4. Hello Simon! Amazing start to your video. The black clouds closing in really shows your skills in editing videos. This is a must-watch trailer for all the people who have suffered from some sort of trauma of PTSD because they all should follow the steps of Peter and go seek medical help before it ruins everything. Very touchy story and the topic is something very common in the US. Good work.

      Hello Grinald
Thank you for your comments. I didn’t even have many abilities, it was my first experience using Animoto, so thank you. It is a significant film for people suffering from PTSD. I think that the main thing you mentioned is to pursue professional help. Following medical assistance, there is also a range of recovery programs and others to aid. Also, I believe that as shooting injuries increase, more individuals may be faced with PTSD.
