I Don’t Want To Set the World on Fire
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7AZIvDD5Lw
This here is a piece of music that I would put in my movie. My movie will be about the stock market crash and the struggles of people living during the time. While this song was made in the 40’s, I feel the tone and sound can be matched to my movie. It’s very mellow and slow and would fit with the feelings of people at that time.

U.S Ultimatum to Germany regarding U-Boats
This here is a document from Woodrow Wilson giving an ultimatum to the German Government. This document is dated April 18, 1916. Germany’s policy of unrestricted submarine warfare led the the sinking of the Sussex, a merchant ship traveling on the English Channel. Germany would later withdraw their policy and would warn vessels first before sinking them. But in 1917, Germany would reinsert this policy, thus breaking off diplomatic relations between the U.S and Germany.

Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks, also called the mother of the modern-day civil rights movement would forever be remembered by her act of refusing to give up her seat for a white passenger. This act was a strong symbol for modern day civil rights. This event would later cause the Montgomery Bus Boycott and eventually the end of racial segregation on public bus transportations.

Technology history
In class we mentioned that history can be classified into different ways; political, economic, social, military, cultural, and to some extent legal. I would like to include technological history as one of these categories. Technological change has been going around throughout history, from the creation of the wheel to the last couple of years, in which the growth rate of technology has grown exponentially.
Taken from the IBM website, IBM introduced the first magnetic hard disk for data storage which was called RAMAC (Random Access Method of Accounting and Control) in 1956. The hard disk stores roughly 2,000 bits of data per square inch. For just one megabyte, it could cost as much as $10,000. Today, the cost of storing one megabyte is around 10 cents. While 2,000 bits of data is miniscule in todays standards, it was a major breakthrough at the time. We can say that this was the beginning of the advancement of computer technology today.
Smells Like Teen Spirit
This here is a video of Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit written by Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl and produced by Butch Vig. The song was released on September 10th, 1991. The song itself starts slow and gradually builds up in tempo and dynamics. The vocals and screams of Kurt Cobain shows emotion and the angst of the younger generations are portrayed brilliantly in this song.
This video and song is important in American history as it redefined the music industry. With this song comes the creation of an alternative rock type music called grunge. This song would shortly become the unofficial anthem for the younger generations known as Generation X. For those who haven’t heard this song yet I strongly recommend you do. Take five minutes to enjoy this song.

Introduction of Xbox
This here is the original Xbox introduced in November 15th, 2001. It can be found under the numerous websites from fans of the system.
It marks an important day in American History, as it is the day that America became a major player in the video game industry in terms of consoles which was dominated by the Sony Playstation 2 and Nintento Gamecube. In the following years, Microsoft introduced the Xbox360 which became a major competitor for Sony’s Playstation 3 and Nintedo’s Wii. God Bless America.
