What is Culture?

“What is culture?”, is what I asked multiple people once when I had to do a paper for my Intro to Cultural Anthropology class this on going semester. Most of them answered it relation to some thing family orientated , which is  passed down from generation to generation. They talked about aspects of culture as if it was a biological trait passed down from their parents.

According to anthropologist Kenneth Guest, “culture is a system of knowledge, beliefs, patterns of behavior, artifacts and institutions that are created, learned, and shared by a group of people.

So imagine that system in which you were taught your norms, values, symbols, mental maps of reality, and material objects were constructed  by none other than the MULA.
