Analysis Papers

Each group will submit 5 analysis papers (or 4 papers for the 4 person group).

You should include either:

2 Close Reading Analysis Papers  and 3 Scholarly Analysis Paper

OR

3 Close Reading Analysis Papers and 2 Scholarly Analysis Papers

All submitted analysis papers should be revised (ideally these papers come from your individual assignments throughout the semester).  For greater details about the definition and requirement for the individual assignment papers, please refer to the pages under “Assignment.”

These analysis papers will be assessed based on:

1- thesis:  Do you have a clear, arguable, sufficiently focused thesis statement.

2- How well you engage the text. Do you provide relevant quotes; do you explain those quotes; do you cite appropriately;

3- The strength of your argumentation: Does your organization, the way you introduce your points, and the logic under-girding your argument effectively aid the illustration of your central claim?

4- language:  Is your language readable; do you adhere to the top five grammar/style rules; does your paper seem clean (i.e. not hurried and sloppy with tons of typos).

5- the revision:  Do you make at least one substantial revision based on the feedback you received from myself an your peers.
