Introducing

Hey guys, my name is Haitham Khan. I recently moved to Long Island but previously I lived in Queens. I attended Brooklyn Technical High School where I majored in Law (for some odd reason my high school had majors, I don’t understand why). Although I found law very interesting, my interest has shifted to Finance/Marketing which is why I decided to attend Baruch. I think history is going to be very important to my future career path because by analyzing the past and trends that existed then, I can use that to my advantage and make better decisions about what may and may not work in terms of marketing and advertisement. I look forward to learning more about history so I can continue to develop my understanding of how people have been receptive to certain marketing tactics, strategies and trends in the past.

Intro

My name is Melisa Purisic.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, and my parents are originally from Montenegro. I previously attended Midwood High School. I came to Baruch because it’s obviously known for its outstanding business school and I want to major in accounting or some type of business management. History can be useful for my future career because studying history teaches you how to analyze and interpret different situations. It can also be useful because I can study the history of different businesses and companies and figure out why they succeeded or failed, and use that knowledge and apply it to my career.

Introducing Myself

Hello My name is Justin Lyun and I’m from Brooklyn. I attended Staten Island Technical High School . My favorite thing to do when I have free time is watch sports, I watch most sports but my favorite sports are baseball and football. I am a huge New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. I also like to listen to music and I listen to anything from rap to country.  I chose to come to Baruch because I want to major in finance and I thought that Baruch would give me a good education. I think that studying history will help me learn about prior events in history that if we didn’t learn about would possibly happen again. I hope that it will also make me a more well rounded student.

Introducing Myself

Hello my name is Shalom Ngalaba. I live in Queens, New York but I was originally born in the east African country of Tanzania. My dad works in the UN and that’s why we moved here back in 2002. I want to earn a degree in Business Management by the time I graduate from Baruch. History is a subject that is worth studying because it holds significance in life as a whole. We are where we are only because of our awareness of where we came from and accomplishments we are proud of or regret. I don’t think this will change moving forward.

Introducing myself!

Hello! My name is Carmen Li.

My favorite color is blue and my favorite food is sushi! I attended high school at Bronx High School of Science. I began learning how to play the piano when I was around 4 years old, but have no talent to show for it. Currently, I’m working part time at a Korean Skin care store in Queens called Nature Republic.

I haven’t decided on my major yet, but I am interested in management. By studying history, I learn about the different strategies past managers have used to keep the business running smoothly and fairly. I will find out which strategy work and what didn’t. I will also learn about how to start my own business and build my business into something more than a random office on the street.

Introducing Me

Hello my name is Matthew Rupolo, but Matt is fine. I was born and raised in Staten Island, New York, I have two amazing parents who have great a appreciation for education and understand the necessity of it. I am greatly interested in computers and always have been since I was little, this is why I believe that the Computer Information Systems(CIS) major is perfect for me since I wish to make a career for myself in the business world. Besides being interesting to me the study of history may become useful to me by showing me how to make proper and successful decisions by drawing on my own history and the history we will be discussing in future classes.

Intro

Hi, my name is Yonatan Livian, but people call me Yoni. I come from Great Neck, Long Island, from a traditional Jewish family; one who values my education and views it as a tool to further my future. I hope to one day work in business, although I am not sure which specific field yet. I am a huge sports fan, and I avidly follow college basketball and soccer. To me, studying history plays a vital role in preparing me for my potential future in business. By analyzing past communications, deals, successes and failures, I hope to be able to distinguish between choices which will bring about success and those that will bring about failure.
