Box Office Mojo. “Box Office Revenue* of The Highest Grossing Movies in North America in 2016 (in U.S. Dollars).” Statista – The Statistics Portal. Statista. March 2016. Web. 7 Apr 2016.

This source displays a graph of the top grossing movies in North America in 2016 so far. This source was useful because this graph very clearly indicates that “Deadpool” made the most money compared to other blockbuster movies in North America. I will use this graph to compare “Deadpool” to these other movies as proof of the success of the marketing team for “Deadpool”.

Gischler, Victor (w), Dazo, Bong (p), and Pimentel, Jose (i). “Head Trip: Part 5” Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth Vol.1 #5 (Jan. 2010), Marvel Comics

This comic is a physical source that has just one of the many examples of Deadpool breaking the fourth wall by making a pop-culture reference. This is a useful source because it will help to explain one of the pages on my website. I will use this source to explain how the marketing team for the movie can use its creative freedom because of these types of pop-culture references.

“Marvel Comics.” Movies at the Box Office. IMDb, 12 Apr. 2016. Web. 12 Apr. 2016.

This website is a list that compiles every Marvel movie made and compares the gross profit from highest gross to lowest. This is useful because it shows where “Deadpool”, an R-Rated movie, stands amongst other superhero themed movies that have PG and PG-13 ratings. I will use this source as a beginning point in describing how this movie was the first of its kind, which helped to lead it to success.

“Top Grossing R Rated Movies at the Box Office.” Top Grossing R Rated Movies at the Box Office. IMDb, 12 Apr. 2016. Web. 12 Apr. 2016.

This website is a list that shows the highest grossing R-Rated films of all time from highest grossing to lowest grossing. This is useful because I am able to compare “Deadpool” to other films that are in the same rate category deemed by the MPAA, which gives a better idea as to the viewership to “Deadpool”. I will use this source as a point in describing how this “superhero” movie grossed this much money even though it is R-Rated.

/u/KX321. “Deadpool Film Emoji Billboard. 2016. California. Reddit.com. Web. 12 Apr. 2016.

This picture shows one of the billboards that the marketing team for “Deadpool” used to advertise for the movie. This picture is useful because it is an example of the creativity that the marketing team was capable of for this movie. I will use this picture to explain the creative freedom presented to the marketing team because of the character that Deadpool represents.
