Artifact: Culture Strike ICE Agent arrests Statue of Liberty

• Some artifacts I believe I can analyze in relation to migration are the countless stories reported on immigrants taken by ICE and the many hardships they are currently facing.
• Podcasts, news articles, blogs, documentaries
• I selected the third artifact of the ICE agent arresting the Statue of Liberty wearing a religious head covering.
• This artifact uses symbolism with the State of Liberty who symbolizes the “freedom” that is in America.
• Having her arrested by a ICE  agent a figure working for the United States brings light to the hypocrisy and irony. The U.S. claims to be the a place of safety and protection where we are granted rights and are all equal. But the very existence of ICE throws dirt on that whole idea.
