For the final project, I decided to make a brochure about Irving Penn. The reason why I chose to do the brochure was because I felt like I could take what I had learned from the previous project and explore it even more with the 8 page layout. Irving Penn’s work is bold without being chaotic. I felt that my style, of being more minimal, would be a good design layout for his work. Therefore, I decided to make the theme black and white with making sure to use a lot of negative space. I wanted it to look very clean and open in order to showcase his work. This is why I did not pick any fancy typefaces for titles and I stuck with Baskerville for all the texts.
This project not only made me learn new things, but it also helped me grow by continuing from the previous project. Because of this, I was further able expand my design idea. Throughout this project, I tried to be very cautious of all the main guidelines I had learned. I was cautious of being consistent through the brochure, making sure the alignment of text and images were aligned as well as many other things. I really enjoyed this project and it was were I was able to see my growth the most.
