What is Graphic Design

In the article, graphic design is described to be existing everywhere from books to mobile apps. It’s not all in one place to offer an experience. The experience can be ranged depending how each of us see the piece of artwork. It’s just fascinating how same piece of art can be portrayed in many different ways. Since an artwork can mean anything from goofy to serious, I think graphic design is not a science but some subjective world. Humans put meaning and emotions to create something that makes us all think and talk about. Without emotions and meaning, I think it’s not possible to create anything. To me, graphic design is a language and art world with the use of technology to show a variety of reactions.

From this article, I think graphic design use mediums and have many disciplines where you can create a work of art. Therefore, graphic design something to be discovered and explored because everything has its history. I want to ask if an artwork is beautiful to the artist and beautiful to the viewer, can the piece of work be concrete and offer reality and genuine feelings to not create misunderstandings? It’s hard to know and sometimes I think art can be biased, however I think every piece of work has it definition and it takes a long time to study and critique. Perhaps maybe the ideas are not discovered yet just waiting to be explored. I think that’s why graphic design has so many different jobs titles.
