What is Graphic Design?

After reading the article, I realized just how much influence design has on our daily lives. From the moment we step out of our house – and sometimes even before – we are surrounded by design. It comes in the form of advertisements in bus waiting areas to the advertisements in the trains. You can see design in the names of the different stores on every street and in the menus that we read at a restaurant. Design is everywhere. The article showed me that it is an important job to make sure that viewers of these designs find them appealing enough to remember. Graphic design is a way to visually communicate with people and to express emotions. Different typefaces, fonts, colors, and size need to express something upon a glance. Sometimes, these typefaces need to be comfortable enough for viewers to look at for a longer period of time. Whether things need to be looked at for a second or for an hour, graphic design is a main component in making sure people actually look at them.

I would like to ask the author how long it usually takes for a company to develop a brand/logo? I think that it just depends on each separate graphic designer and their team. Sometimes, inspiration and creativity comes to you in a second, and sometimes it takes a little longer. Also, sometimes, companies change logos when they believe that their brand is better represented by something else. Since developing a logo is most likely the most creative part of the company, I believe that the team would have a lot of different ways to encourage creativity.
