I found very interesting video in the internet, discussing about body language. You know, your body language is very important during the presentation. It can communicate to your audience many things, such as your emotions, feelings, self-esteem, etc. Usually, speakers who do not feel comfortable talking in front of the crowd stand stiff and close, instead of being active, open and alive to successfully deliver your message. However, can you fight the bothering feeling inside of you? Psychologist Amy Cuddy talks about “power posing” that can overcome your fright and help you feel more comfortable, and maybe even superior before the audience. I have to admit that Amy’s talk is very inspiring. I followed her advice and I certainly became better at my body language and at my presentations. Please, see the video about how “power posing” can change, and shape your mind, setting it up for success. Moreover, please follow to TED talks. Most of them very informative and sometimes even inspiring!

My work for CIS class presentation a year ago
Last year I was taking CIS class at Baruch college. The part of our course was to make 30 minutes presentation. My group was a company that specialized on e-commerce. In our presentation we had to cover several topics, such as history of the internet and future of the e-commerce. I decided to do something interesting and used Facebook as my inspiration, because this theme related to every person in the audience. We also had to show the benefits of becoming e-commerce company for our client, which was (according to our legend) a linen company, Karen. We also had to cover our client’s future competitors on the e-commerce market, create a prototype of the website and cover technological side of this project as well. You can see what was my final product for our presentation.

Deleting Picture’s Background
Have you ever been in the situation when you want to insert the picture to your presentation slide but the picture’s background does not match your slide’s background? I think every student had been in that situation, that is why many of the presentation have bright white backgrounds, which is not quite attractive. Look for example on the Steve Job’s presentations; he background is always made of dark colors. As for me, I think the darker background is more appealing for the audience’s eyes. But, what can we do in the situation when backgrounds do not match? Unfortunately, many students are not familiar with functions that Microsoft PowerPoint has. Today, I want to discuss about very useful tool, that can help you to get rid of picture’s annoying background and leave only the content that is needed for you. As an example, you can check “my works” section and my presentation that I uploaded. There, you will see that many pictures does not have any backgrounds. Moreover, in the management team slides you will see that pictures has nice effect. So, how did I do that? Here it is how.
First, go to insert tab and press picture. Choose the picture you want to insert. When the picture will be inserted to your slide, the “Format” tab automatically will pop up. On the left hand side, you will see the “Remove Background” option. Press it. There will be two instruments to use, pencil to remove the area and pencil to keep the area, and functions to discharge any changes, keep the changes and delete mark. Use both pencils marking the areas for the best result. The area that you need to delete is very easy to catch, when you have monotone, for example white background (it is the case when you work with some logos). When you mark the area that you want to use just click on keep changes.
Applying this instrument, you can open new horizons for using pictures in your presentations. As an example, I also inserted the video-tutorial that I found in the Internet, so you can see how you can implement this tool for your creative ideas

Hey Reader! Welcome!
Nowadays, presentations become inescapable part of any student and any person who wants to share his or her ideas with others. Great visualization of your thoughts can help to catch people’s eyes, make them more attentive, and perceive information easier. Unfortunately, educational institutions do not provide us with a deep knowledge of how to create a presentation that would stand out and attract your listeners. I created these blog for anybody who wants to learn some tricks for their presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint. However, if you already have advance knowledge of this program you are more than welcome to share your creative ideas and tips for PowerPoint slides.
