In the current times that we live in, the process of gentrification in a way has poisoned our mind. Urban development in some cases is bad, peoples lives are being negatively affected by corporate and institutional urban development however this does not ring true for all of the cases. In the case of the Long Island City area we see urban development giving an otherwise desolate neighborhood purpose. Long Island City has flourished in the arts and education as well as aesthetic image which ultimately improves the quality of life for both the residents and visitors of the area.
