I agree with you Arianna! I feel there is symbolism and I also agree there’s foreshadowing as well when it comes to Claire.
I like the fact that you focused on the very beginning because I did too, I think the reason the film starts differently is to already set the tone of the story and in my opinion, I think it was done beautifully. The fact that the novel first with letters with no return address is indicative of an even larger issue.
