How Russia-Ukraine conflict is affecting students studying in U.S.A

Yuliia Kravchenko, a Fulbright scholar in the U.S speaks on how the Russian-Ukraine war has affected her studies and family and friends back home. Yuliia is from Ukraine and has been vocal about what is happening in her country since the conflict started. She feels it’s important to talk about the issues her country is facing and wants her voice to be heard. She will share how her scholarship was affected and the physical, mental, and emotional endurance her family and friends have experienced due to the conflict. She has agreed that I will prepare some questions for her to answer which I will record and incorporate in my story. In this I will do background research on what the conflict is really about and what lead us up to the current day situation.

Some questions that I plan to ask are:
1.) What are your first thoughts when you saw in the news that there's an arising conflict between your country, Ukraine and Russia?
2.) How do you feel about the course of action that was taken by both countries to resolve or not resolve the conflict?
3.) Can you share a story about you or a family member that was/is affected by the war?
4.) How has this conflict affected your Fulbright scholarship?
5.) Are you scared to go back home?
6.) What future do you foresee for yourself now taking into consideration that these conflicts can sometimes take a long time to get resolved?
7.) Do you think there can be a resolution anytime soon? If yes, what do you as a citizen of Ukraine expect to happen?
