Pitch for photo essay.
There is something so special about someone that has lived in New York City for their whole life. Someone so consumed by the buildings, sidewalks, characters, and ambiance of this city. For this photo essay I want to follow a customer I used to serve at my local cafe. He is a 60-something year old man that lives his life with simplicity. He is retired but lives his like he is a young man. He is a photographer, following with the music scene of Ridgewood, Queens, making everyone he encounters feel special, with a cigarette always in hand. This is Ralph.

New York City is one of the most recognized cities, when it comes to the fashion industry. With fashion week around the corner, the streets of soho will be flooded with artists, and designers from all over the world. For this photo essay I want to follow an undergrond fashion stylist- infleuncer, that I follow on instagram. He is an 18 year old student that is driven by his artitistic vision not only through clothes, but through life as well. I will be following him around his day to capture his creative process and to take an inside look into how a fashion stylist/ infleuncer gets ready for fashion week.
“Re-Entering a New World: Middle Schoolers’ Journey through the Pandemic”
This story revolves around how middle school students have coped with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on their resilience and adaptability. Taking accounts from both students and teachers, I’ll have the two compare their pre-pandemic lives with their now-new introduction to in-person learning.
* Tell the story of how the community, educators, and children used creativity to help navigate through the COVID journey
* Showcase before and after photos of schools pre and post pandemic. Such as an empty school playground compared to a now filled playground.
