Week 10 Reading Response
‘’Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.’’— Hebrews 13:2. (pp.5) One characteristic that makes a game engaging is its adaptability to its participants. The idea for the game creation would consist of bringing complete strangers into an interactive multi-room setting which puts the game in the hands of the player. I believe that giving players more choices gives them a chance to put the outcome in their hands. The first interface would contain two choices, which would change the trajectory of the game for the player. Depending what they answer will choose whether the game will be easy or not. The theme of the game is to test the moral compass of the participant. The first question would be a what if scenario that puts the player in a predicament of whether they would aid a helpless bystander or carry on with their busy day knowing they have no time to waste. Every slide will contain harder decisions each requiring the player to the put the bystander’s needs ahead of their own. The final slide will grade the player on its moral compass from 1-5, which will grade the players on the decisions made through each slide.
