Why do we enjoy music?

Have you ever wondered why you enjoy music so much? Humans have always enjoyed music since the beginning of time. Since the beginning of time we have found many different ways to make music. “When pleasurable music is heard, dopamine is released in the striatum — an ancient part of the brain found in other vertebrates as well — which is known to respond to naturally rewarding stimuli like food and sex and which is artificially targeted by drugs like cocaine and amphetamine.” I found this paragraph to be very interesting, because food, sex and music are all things that people would say they enjoy a lot.
