I think the seriousness of the problem could be stronger by discussing all of the negative effects of illegal immigration. For instance, what is the cost that America pays to detain and deport immigrants that are convicted of crimes? What revenue does America lose out on from the taxes not collected from undocumented immigrants?
Immigration is a very complex social, economic and political issue. There is no easy option, but I think simplified federal laws are necessary in remedying the flaws in our immigration system. The best option for immigration reform is option 4, revamping Canada’s guest program and grant more visas for work, it seems as though most immigrants come to the U.S. for better work opportunities, so this will remove the penalties employers and employees face.
I think immigration issue is very complicated and a serious issue to address and find a solution. I think that in your introduction you need to support your facts with statistics like actually showing us how does immigration benefits our country in numbers, and how does it affect it. For me trying to come up with a good solution is difficult I think an enforcement of federal laws is key as well as enforcing our borders but that won’t solve the people of all the immigrants that are already inside the country. Trying to find a way to legalized them for me is the best way to go. After that is done we can take care of our borders and creating laws that prevent more immigrants from coming in. Option 4 actually is a good idea creating work visas will bring legal immigrants to this country helping to our economy is a win win.
