Oily Mess!

August 4, 2010 by bb-pawprint

Have you ever had oily hair before?  Do you ever wonder how it happens? Oily hair is a common problem of the scalp when it has an overactive oil gland due to high levels of hormones. Oily hair is my biggest mess because oily hair often make your hair looks flat and greasy.

Thoroughly washing will remove excess oil, dust, and dirt which would make your hair dull and lifeless.  People, like me, who have straighter hair tend to have oilier hair.  Oily hair is a pain because it looks disgusting when there are clumps of hair stuck together.  But, despite looking bad and disgusting, oily hair actually benefits you.

Oily hair protects your hair from breaking and keeps your scalp in a good condition.  The only serious problem is when you have too much excess oil, which is when you have to see a doctor.
You can never get rid of oily hair, but there are treatments for it.  In order to avoid oily hair, try to wash it as often as necessary because it is good to keep your hair nice and clean.  Use gentle shampoo and leave shampoo on your scalp for 5 minutes.  Try to avoid using two-in-one shampoos and conditioner because it cause your hair to be dry.  When you do use conditioner, avoid placing it at the roots and the scalps; instead place it on the middle or ends of your hair.

You should towel dry your hair before you blow dry it. When you blow dry your hair, blow it near your hair strands and roots.  Also try not to eat a lot of oily food; eat more vegetables.  When you brush you hair, do not brush it too often because brushing will help spread the oil from your roots to the end of your hair.

Oily hair can be treatable if and only if you take care of your nicely.
