Ladies and gentlemen, you are all cordially invited to the Portokalos Wedding on March 25th, 2016.

Everybody’s favorite Greek family will be back in theaters in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, a sequel to the 2002 romantic culture clash comedy, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. The original stars Nia Vardalos as Toula Portokalos, a shy Greek woman who falls in love with Ian Miller (John Corbett), who is not Greek. Toula’s family struggles to accept Ian’s non-Greco lineage and Ian learns to embrace the quirkiness of his new found extended family.

The sequel takes place in years after the original’s conclusion, with Toula and Ian now parents of a daughter named Paris Miller, played by newcomer Elena Kampouris. Mirroring the plot of the original hit, Paris faces the same struggle as Toula of being smothered by her family. She is also in the process of applying to colleges and believes studying away from home is the only way to put some space between herself and her relatives.

Normally in this kind of sequel, it is the daughter’s wedding that becomes the driving point of the plot — however, in a nice twist, it’s Toula’s parents who are actually getting married this time.

“We’re not married? I’m a hippie!”, Toula’s mother, Maria Portolaos (Lainie Kazan) says when she finds out the priest never signed the wedding license.

According to IMDB, another new face joining the family is TV heartthrob John Stamos (Full House, ER). His role in the film is not yet determined, the only way to find out is to watch the film in theaters.

Hope you all sent back your RSVP’s (and remembered to notify your +1s) because the festivities will begin next month.
