“I miss the Old Kanye/Straight from the ‘Go Kanye/Chop up the soul Kanye/Set on his goals Kanye” – Kanye West
With the help of footwear/fashion giant adidas, Kanye West pulled off a creative coop on February 11th: he debuted his new album, The Life Of Pablo and his clothing line Yeezy Season 3 both at Madison Square Garden.
The World’s Most Famous Arena never quite had such an “expect the unexpected” feeling like this since a Game 7 of an NBA Finals: the arena was dark with clouds of smoke surfacing from what looked like a blanket covering a stage. Suddenly, the Kardashians and the Jenners make their red carpet entrance. Kanye West steps to the DJ turntables and “Ultra Light Beams” blasts in The World’s Most Famous Arena as the models underneath the blanket were revealed standing still in Yeezy Season Gear.
For two hours, the Garden crowd partied like rock stars, using Kanye West’s album as their soundtrack. The old Kanye, “chop up the soul Kanye,” was back and never better.
“I hate the New Kanye/The bad mood Kanye/The always-rude Kanye/Spaz in the news Kanye” – Kanye West
Yet, like a roller coaster taking sharp dives and banks, so goes the life of Yeezus. The new Kanye, “the always-rude Kanye,” became the topic of conversation for media outlets around the world shortly there after when he let his Twitter filter expire.

Between the “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex” lyric found on his new track “Famous” and the Twitter pleas, many wondered if Kanye West had finally gone off the deep end.
This dichotomy of personalities, though, have his fans and commentators alike asking a more important question: “Which Kanye will we get next?”
Because of his Twitter meltdown, Kanye was no longer seen as the lovable teddy bear in his “The College Dropout” album cover, nor was he the successful mega mogul who just wowed the Mecca of sports. He became a butt of jokes, from everyone to late night TV hosts, Vine videos and SNL, where the Marvel Comics character Deadpool did a spoof on Kanye’s backstage rant.
It seems as though there’s a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thing going with the music icon. Despite being very anti-paparazzi to the point of threatening physical violence, Kanye recently broke up a fight between celebrity photographers; often hating the idea of doing press, Kanye has been very polite in interviews when promoting his products and music.

Whether you love Kanye or hate Kanye, if Kanye is being Kanye, he will continue to stand out. One thing is for certain, the old Kanye and new Kanye continues to push the soundscapes of music and the ideas of the future in a positive direction.
“That’s all it was Kanye, we still love Kanye/And I love you like Kanye love Kanye” – Kanye West
