Bernie Sanders is vying for votes against his rival Hillary Clinton in New York, his home state.  Raise Your Vote went to the former Brooklynite’s neighborhood, Midwood and surveyed the residents there about their thoughts of Sanders.

“It’s exciting to know that  we share a common heritage being Jewish and coming from the same neighborhood, ” said Alice Cohen, 59, an occupational therapist who grew up in Midwood, “Even with the age difference, we probably have a lot in common.”

“I think it’s fabulous it’s somebody from Brooklyn,”Elizabeth, 50, a case manager who works in Midwood, said, “I’m very shocked that somebody from Brooklyn is running for President.”
